There are markings on both the base and neck. They appear to be typical of the French town mark style. The bottle measures 3 ¼ inch tall by 1 5/8 wide. It has a tube of a hinge on the top, meaning that at one time it had a sterling cap. Now, there is a stopper made of rosewood that does come out easily. Residue of an oil is present in it. The crystal bottle is hand cut. Indeed a nice ceremonial item.
