The un-repairable is now repairable
The advent of the Laser Welder for jewelry application allows us to work on jewelry set with heat sensitive stones and to weld very close to these stone without damaging them.

Platinum, Silver, Gold, Titanium and even Base Metals can be successfully bonded using our Laser Welder. (Example) A silver bracelet with bezel set pearls or turquoise can be mended successfully without removing stones. Please feel free to phone 1-888-313-7543 or e-mail us if you have a question as to sending a job to us for an estimate. We also do trade work.

This Platinum, Emerald and Diamond ring was nearly destroyed in an accident moving a refigerator. The gallery severely broken and shank torn away.

After

This is the finished restoration complete with new half-shank.Some of the filagree had to be re-fabricated. The pin-point accuracy of the laser allows us to do tiny welds. Of course a lot of metalworking skills were involved as well.

Before & After 1

This 9kt. gold enameled pin was caught on clothing and broken. It is set with small pearls and the enamel shows age. Still a nice piece of jewelry and being a family heirloom the customer wanted it restored. It could have possibly been repaired with lead solder or low heat repair solder but chances are the enamel would crack. I was able to laser weld it and the welds while very strong were nearly undetectable. And while I was at it a few shots to the clasp to reinforce it. This way we didn't take the risk of ruining the piece.

Before & After 2

This 23 ct.Aquamarine set in a Platinum ring made in 1930 was sold and when the jeweler tried to size the ring smaller all four prongs holding the center stone broke away from the gallery. Also many of the filagree sections broke away from the top gallery. The stone could not be removed from the setting as there are small diamonds set into the top of each prong. The piece had been assembled with white gold solder. A jig was made to hold the prongs in place while it was all lasered welded back in place. While we were at it we also installed a butterfly ring sizer.
